Founded in 2004, Laclos Paris is a menswear brand inspired by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, author of the book Dangerous Liaisons.
Initially known for its unique collection of cashmere knitwear, the brand has since expanded into weaving, sportswear and classic lines.
Each season, Laclos Paris releases a collection that explores the image of the man, drawing inspiration from different countries and cultures. Materials used in the collections include mercerised cotton, silk and aniline lambskin, all designed with a modern silhouette.
The brand has won several prestigious awards, including the Paris Capitale de la Création, the Premium Young Designers Award, the Grand Prix Créateur de Dinard and The International Design Awards (IDA).
Laclos has received considerable press attention and has been featured in Fashion Daily, Drapers, Mixte, MF fashion, West East, Style in Progress, le Figaro Magazine.
The designer
Manix Wong is an international fashion designer and entrepreneur.
Manix was born in Hong Kong. At the age of sixteen, he decided to become a fashion designer. He began his fashion journey at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Arts and Fashion Design.
With his remarkable portfolio, he was offered a place in London’s most prestigious fashion school in 1994 - Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, where he finally embarked on a menswear master’s degree.
He became part of fashion history in the early 90s by winning first place at the first-ever Smirnoff International Fashion Awards and the 40 Under 40 Awards in Hong Kong.
After his graduation, he started to work with most avant-garde designers at the time, where he learnt all about savoir-faire and contemporary cutting. Later, he relocated to Paris, the fashion capital of the world, and established his own label.
